Someone bought this for my first baby 8 years ago and I've used to help all 3 of my children get to sleep. It still works, too!
I bought a different one, more expensive too, for my last baby as I felt we needed the change, but we still called it 'The Star', and she still liked having the star on as much (small, so easy to transport).
For 9.99, it has to be worth trying!
