The TARDIS materialises on board the maiden voyage of a pioneering space cruiser, travelling from Earth to the planet Eternity. The Doctor has just started exploring the huge, hi-tech Interstitial Transposition Vehicle when there is a loud bang, a massive jolt and a flash of light. Shortly afterwards, he discovers that nearly all the passengers and crew have disappeared. Unless the Doctor and flight attendant Sugar MacAuley can take control and steer the ship, they could crash-land - or keep slipping through space forever. And as if that wasn't enough, something awful awaits them on Eternity.

`Written exclusively for audio by Dan Abnett and read by David Tennant, The Last Voyage features the Doctor as played by David Tennant in the acclaimed hit series from BBC Television. `

Doctor Who: The Last Voyage is a great listen not just because it is read by David Tennant but the story written by Dan Abnett is thrilling and spine-chilling.

The characters are greatly written and read. The story based around a vehicle that stays still but moves echos slightly of the series 4 episode Midnight but also differs in many ways.

It takes a while to get into the story, however the brilliant sound effects right at the very start, add to the tone of the story. The story starts off with a monologue by one main character discussing that the ship should not be called a ship. A vast amount of characters did not bother the use of David Tennants voice if anything it made his talents more appreciable.

The conversation about the pink glow is entertaining with modern day phrases and remarks but also taken away into the future not many people know what a seagull is.

With another major mention of the Doctors name and no explanation of it once again this audio exclusive is great especially if you are missing the 10th Doctor.
