I know you may be thinking, here we go, not another language course promising that you can master a language without much bother, but hey with Michel Thomas you really do! I found out i had a long lost relative who was German and a Family reunion was set up. My husband wanted to impress him, so he brought this set. He didn't want to bother with a set that you had to study books, countless cassettes and the like. This is a straight forward procedure of remembering/repeating what you hear whilst the 2 people on the cd chat, with Michel coming in at various intervals. You think that you will not remember/take in much but you do! The whole course is very clearly spoken, well paced and the pauses are just long enough for you to pick your brain. My husband hadn't the time to put in that much effort as the family member was arriving at short notice/within weeks basically. Yet he picked up enough to chatter along nicely when he arrived and it really impressed him as he knew my husband had only used this course. These are definately the only language courses worth bothering with. We went on to buy French and Spanish too, having previously brought Italian, as we were so impressed!
