This is the second book in the Win Gerano series. Win who is a state investigator, has been assigned by his boss, Monique Lamont to investigate a 45 year old case where a British blind woman was murdered but the case never solved.
Monique-who, at most times is so power hungry and self absorbed, makes you wonder throughout the book, if she is a baddie or goodie. That's politics for you! Some great twists and turns.
Win is someone I would like to get to read more of. I have warmed to him and his witchy Nana.
A different-lighter- style of writing by Cornwell - not as deep as her earlier novels.
Needed to have a few more chapters-I did look but just blank pages!

I managed to read this book in one afternoon, once I started it I was so hooked I couldn't stop until I had finished! I was not sure how I would take to the main character in "The Front", as he is not Kay Scarpetta, but found that I enjoyed reading about him just as much. The tension between him and the two other leading characters was evident and leapt off the page. The story was clear and concise and interesting to follow as it related to real life events. A brilliant book as ever by Patricia Cornwell that captured my interest from the very first page, and did not leave me until the very last word in the book. The plot was very good, and the style of writing really helped you envisage in your mind the story as it unfolded, even down to details as clothes and the weather. I look forward to hearing more from this character in future books. The only disappointment I had was reading it so quickly!
