I listened to this ages ago on radio 1 but I kept missing certain bits so then I bought it on tape (yes it is that old and so am I) and it was fantastic very true to the comics doomsday story and although I only ever listened to the Radio for music before hand this was a none stop thrill that had me on the edge of my seat and crying at times I totally recomend it. The BBC also did 2 others 1 was the origin of superman and the other was the origin of Spider-man, both were also fantastic and worth a listen.
