'My life is a series of embarrassing incidents strung together by telling people about those embarrassing incidents.'Russell Brand's scandalous reminiscences were always going to have a literary flavour. But nothing you've heard him say on stage, radio or TV can prepare you for the impact of this beautifully written memoir. From his troubled childhood in Essex and his addictions to drink, drugs and sex, to his giddy rise through the world of entertainment, this is not simply a story of fame but of redemption, achingly and hilariously honest throughout.

what a life this guy has had, i'm a fan of Russell's stand-up, radio & TV shows but never knew much about him until i read this.

from his early days & the sad story of his mother's reccuring illness thru "the college years" and up to the present day, Russell pokes fun at himself and is shown to overcome adversity.

definatly my favorite read of the year!!!!

 boring unfunny

i never really liked russell brand but thought i would read his book to try and find a funny side to him but to be honest the book is very unfunny and a boring read much like his stand up shows or rubbish tv shows.

this man is incredibly over rated and hasnt made a joke thats made me laugh at the funniest thing about brand is his looks but then again there not that funny just stupid looking

If you want something to make you sleep on a cold winter nig

ht, then get this!! seriously if people think this is the best book they've ever read, they need to get reading a few more books. The guy is over rated.

 A surprisingly good read!

A wonderfully written book; delivered in a word for word manner as if the words left Brand's mouth and floated down (or sometimes bumbled) onto the page. A great insight into his life - I thought it might be a little 'preachy' or depressing regarding his drug problems but it is a well delivered dissection of his life to this point; funny, poignant and riveting - I got through it within a couple of weeks.

The chapters are fairly concise and well structured, though it seemed it took be a while to plow through some due to the need to absorb what was going on via Brand's wonderful vocabulary.

I didn't used to like Brand - until I saw him freaking out Jonathan Ross - then I got into him and this book has spurred me to seek out his earlier work (such as Re:brand) on youtube and appreciate it in the context of the things that were going on in Brand's life at that time.

A great book - as comedian autobiographies go, up there next to Richard Pryor.

 The best book Ever?......

.......No! Not by a long chalk. But is it honest, sad, heart warming and funny? Yes! If you're a 'Brand' fan, then you don't need convincing to read this book. If not and you want to read a book about a man who has come back from adversity and who is still fighting against his own personal demons and also have some laugh out loud moments. Then buy this book, if not for yourself then for someone who you might think would enjoy it. They will thank you for it. Hari Krishna, boiiii!
