Sue Martin began life at a children's home, behind the doors of which lay a world steeped in lies, cover-ups, victimisation and abuse. At its heart was Boagey, whose perverse bullying was targeted at Sue. Her attacks quickly progressed from the punishment of an innocent child to gratification of her sexual whims.

A brilliant story, written with honesty and humour! Sue tells us the story of her childhood within Barnardos homes and how she struggled to remain 'unbroken' by the truly uncaring nature of the majority of her guardians, and the horrific abuse that she endured.

The strength of her amazing character shone through, and I even managed to laugh in places!
Although I was pleased with the book, it really has left me wondering what happened next?

Since 'No Way Home' ended when Sue was 17, I'm sure she must have material for a sequel!? I am dying to know how the rest of Sue's life turned out.

 Enlightening!

How to make a human time-bomb - which no-one knows whether it will explode or implode!!!
This is an extremely well written book detailing the life history of a little girl who was left in the 'care' of St Barnados.
Sue has a very good memory from the age of 3 when she went to stay at a St Barnados home. She is also obviously very intelligent which somehow makes the abuse worse as it was just so unnecessary.
Having suffered abuse at the hands of a male relative I was shocked to find out that females can be just as evil and selfish. Be warned, I had to put the book down in parts due to the emotional upheaval of Sue's experiences suffered at the hands of these heartless and evil women. However, the strength of character of the author shines through whether she realizes it or not, and we can only hope that her adult life was a lot happier than her childhood. xxxxxx
