"Belle is a natural-born blogger, her style is witty and compact, with the right mixture of intimacy and disassociation...Her entertainment value is huge...because she writes about sex with a mind behind it" - "The Times". Belle de Jour is the nom de plume of a high-class call girl working in London. This is her story. From the summer of 2003 to the autumn of 2004 Belle charted her day-to-day adventures on and off the field in a frank, funny and award-winning web diary. Now, in her "Intimate Adventures", Belle elaborates on those diary entries, revealing (among other things) how she became a working girl, what it feels like to do it for money, and where to buy the best knickers for the job. From debating the literary merits of Martin Amis with naked clients to smuggling whips into luxury hotels, this is a no-holds barred account of the high-class sex-trade, and an insight into the secret life of an extraordinary woman.

Wow, this book was so good.
I did'nt think I would enjoy it, I know some books of this genre I have read have been badly written and rather tacky.....but this book is in a league of it's own.
It is very well written by a lady who knows her stuff and isn't afraid to tell it.
From the first few pages you sort of feel like you know the author as it is written in a very personal way, like she is actually telling you and only you her deepest, darkest secrets.
I was so impressed and hooked by it that I ordered the second book straight away and read them both within a couple of days. They were the sort of books that you really hate to finish reading because you enjoyed them so much.
People might not agree with me but, I do admire her for the life she has led and the fact she had the confidence (and body!!) to do it.If I had what she's got, I think I might have done it too had the situation or opportunity ever arisen (ahem...!).It sounds like an excellent and very fun way of funding a new pair of Jimmy Choos !!!!

I got this book in the morning, having a cold, and the fact I already bought it for a friends BD-present, I then almost couldn't lay it from me. So I bought an extra for my self. It took me 12h to finsih this book, it's witty sence and humor makes it perfect reading for those who can handle the face facts of what really goes on in society.

Even though you don't get an indepth look on the character, you still get the feeling to know her. I am awaiting to get book 2 and enjoy it with the same amount of glee I had the first one!

 Witty and interesting

I bought this book well before it was out on TV and I loved it then. It was the first racy book I'd read. I really enjoyed the diary format, I thought it worked well and thought that even in the parts where there is some quite sexually descriptive stuff, it was still well written and fluid like. I have read this book time and time again, and I think its fab.

 C'etait tres amusante...

This book arrived yesterday and I had finished by late last night. I am not sure exactly how to review this book as my opinion of it is certainly mixed. Firstly I believe it is not for the prudish and certain circles may find the way Belle talks of sex in her frank and honest way makes for uncomfortable reading. I myself found this book very interesting and was intensely surprised to find the author (forgive any stereotyping or insulting typecasting - I am only human) was incredibly witty and intelligent. Something I was not expecting. However, as this book is not quite a biography and not quite a novel it is hard to place my enjoyment as it never really went anywhere and when I reached the last page I was unsure what to make of it. If you look at it from the point of view that it is an insight/segment of someones life, not neccessarily in chapters, but in glimpses all over the shop then it is a really interesting read. Put another way, I've ordered the follow up book, but I wouldn't rave about it...
