At 30, Duncan Bannatyne had no money and was enjoying life on the beaches of Jersey. He saw a story of someone who had made himself a millionaire, and decided to do the same. Five years later he had done it, and now he is worth 168 million. In this remarkable book, Bannatyne relives his colourful path to riches, from ice cream salesman to multi-millionaire, explaining how anyone could take the same route as he did - if they really want to. Hugely articulate, and with numerous fascinating and revealing stories to tell, this is an autobiography and a business book unlike any other - but then Bannatyne isn't like any other businessman, either.

If your a fan of Dragon's Den or want to know how this millionaire started off with nothing and ended up with multi million pound companies then this is the book for you. I bought the hardback version of this and couldn't put it down. I have never said this about any book before but you must buy it!!!

 Truly Inspirational

Probably due to having so much in common with Duncan in his early years, this book has really inspired me. It goes in to great depth about how Duncan started out in business and showed that this average man, with nothing more than sheer determination, made his dreams and aspirations a reality.
I read the 300 pages within 3 days, and have already started implementing changes in my own business as a result. 5 stars Duncan - Cant wait to read your other books

A fantastic book. If you want inspiration then this is the book for you it's straight to the point on how he made his fortune and about his childhood. Once I started it I couldn't put it down. If you want what he's got then buy this book.

 more autobiography than business book

The book was mostly interesting but with a few filler chapters. Nearer the end I simply didn't care about his charity work, and there isn't enough detail for die hard dragons den fans. It was inspiring but not in a massively motivational way. It was inspiring because you read it thinking "he is ordinary, and i do believe anyone can do it." It does exactly what is says on the tin and is a worthwhile read if you already have some interest in the bloke

 Great read

I can't say the writing of the book was fantastic because it wasn't and by no means is it a literative masterpiece. The real bonus of the book is the fantastic story behind Duncans life, from the detailed section of his past with no money to the aspirations and staggering speed of his growth in the business world. I would give the book 5 but the last third of the book is devoted to dragons den which would appeal to some people but i felt dragged on too much and was enjoying the read on the business and charity side of his life.
