Comment: This book is in good or better condition. It has no tears to the pages and no pages will be missing from the book. The spine of the book is still in great condition and the front cover is generally unmarked. It has signs of previous use but overall is in really nice, tight condition. The Spook and his apprentice, Thomas Ward, have travelled to Priestown for some unfinished business. For, deep in the catacombs of the cathedral, lurks the Spook's nemesis - The Bane, a creature he has never been able to defeat. As Thomas and his master prepare for the battle of their lives, it becomes clear that The Bane isn't their only enemy in town. The Quisitor has arrived, searching the county for those who meddle with the dark - witches, warlocks and Spooks! When the Spook is arrested and sentenced to death, it's up to Thomas, with a little help from his old friend, Alice, to rescue his master and destroy the curse of Priestown.

I read this book when i was 14, and i loved it. i don't see why the age limit is upto 11, i found it interesting, call me childish, whatever it's a good read.

 Fantastic reading!

I agree with Jess, all the books in the Wardstone Chronicles have been thoroughly enjoyable and even as someone in my late teens :P I still found myself immersed throughout.

My one criticism of the books are the endings. Though it was clear the first book was to be continued, I felt a little disappointed by the endings of the other three books; being able to pick a few holes in the plot and such. However they are "children's" books so I'll accept that as an excuse seeing as the rest of the stories are so fantastic!

I wouldn't recommend them as adult books at all, seeing as I have bothered relatives in to trying to get into the books - to no avail. They are however, as I have said, very enjoyable and easy to get immersed into if you have half an imagination.

I've just pre-ordered the 5th book!

 excellent series

I sat and watched my ten year old devour the JKRowling books and was at a loss how to fill that gap in his life.

These did the trick, he loves them. Harry Potter move to the left. If your kids loved Harry they will love these also.
