Thirteen reasons why is written by Jay Asher. It is about a teenage boy called Clay Jensen who finds a package with several cassette tapes recorded by his classmate and first girlfriend, Hannah Baker. On the tape Hannah tells him and the twelve other people that received the package that there are thirteen reasons why she killed herself two weeks before they received the package and that they are one of the reasons. This results in Clay's life never being the same again.

I liked this book because you feel like the author is connecting to you by asking you questions. I also liked the fact that I could imagine the characters and what was happening through the use of adjectives.

The only thing that I disliked about this book is that it can portray Hannah's state of mind to teenagers and encourage them to give up if things get tough, like Hannah did.

10/10. It was brilliant!

Suicide! A word that some people no better than others, this book explore's the life of a young girl named Hannah. She feels she has many reasons for wanting to end her life. It all comes down to 13 people who she sends tapes explaining why they contribute to the reason she committed suicide a few weeks before. Clay finds his name on the list and listens to Hannah's story and finds information that will change his life forever, Brilliant book, impossible to put down, full of strong emotions and a great plot.
