Great book, lots of details, pictures and information and the same layout and style as the platinum guide, however it doesn't contain the national dex and only covers the story up to completing the elite four and then stops. The top right hand corner of the front cover advises of a free map poster Vol. 1 which leads me to think they will try and cash in and release a second book got the post E4 adventure which is slightly annoying, other then that a great asset to any Trainer
great book in the world this book is the best woohoo
Its a decent guide and is very informative however it only explain half the game and on the front it says volume 1 so I assume they plan on making another one for the kanto region.
I did quite like the maps and pictures which were exactly the same as the game where as some previous guides (like the pokemon platinum guide) were not like that as they didn't show people on them and some other important items.
However it is not as good as the origonal gold and silver guide for the origonal gold and silver versions.
All in all a decent guide but could be made better by including the other region. if it had done that probably would have given it 4 stars
A bit disappointed with this guide to be honest; it spends a lot of time explaining the blatantly obvious without really helping the player delve deeper into the game to discover hidden secrets and the like. I find it especially frustrating that the Kanto part of the game isn't even covered at all, given that I purchased it to help me further my game after I had won all the badges and become Pokemon League Champion. Sadly, there is nothing of the sort to be found here. On the plus side, the maps are handy as is the Pokedex in the back, but these can easily been found online at many fansites so my advice is to save your money.
Now, I buy guide books for all pokemon games, and they're usually very informative and provide excellent information about secrets in the game and where to find rare items and pokemon. However this guide is extremely minimalist, and only covers one half of the game, probably meaning Nintendo are going to cash in even more and create a separate guide book for the other half. A waste of money in my opinion
