Comment: This book is in good or better condition. It has no tears to the pages and no pages will be missing from the book. The spine of the book is still in great condition and the front cover is generally unmarked. It has signs of previous use but overall is in really nice, tight condition. In this stunning, terrifying new novel from the phenomenally successful Anne Rice, Lestat, her vampire hero, makes a Faustian pact with Memnoch, the fallen angel and devil. When the novel opens, Lestat is being stalked through the squalor and opulence of New Orleans, sensing for the first time what it must be like to be one of his own victims. The dramatic plot hurtles through space and time from the New Orleans underworld in the 1990s to the first century AD, the Fourth Crusade, and an apocalyptic denouement in hell. Lestat brings back the shroud imprinted with the face of Christ, and is saved from damnation only by will of Dora, the saintly nun whose blood he desires but whom he could not bring himself to harm. Blind in one eye, and weak, he returns to earth and the present as a captive of his own kind and Dora's charge, uncertain whether he will ever be able to kill again...

 Amazing book!!!

I read this book a long time ago, & really must do so again. I totally agree with the previous review...it really is an amazing book. Yes I loved Interview with a Vampire, especially the film, however, I feel that this is the best book that Anne Rice has ever written. I'm not religious, but I couldn't help but pity the character Memnock, & see things from his point of view...It really made me question the religion of christianity, & view it from different angles. I'd say this is one of my favourite books - it's brilliant!

the best book ive ever read

I dont want to seem too biast by saying ive enjoyed all anne rice's books, but this one has stood out amungst them all. Truly a fantastic read!!! It tells creation from the devils point of view..which although seems alittle wierd (not to mention satanic) grips you and pulls you into another way of looking at the bigger picture of life and faith.
