If you enjoyed the tudor court novels, you will love this novel. It is set before the tudors at the war of lancaster and york houses. The heroine Elizabeth Woodville is beautiful, srong and ambitous character. You can believe you are her and feel her happiness and her deepest sorrow. Well done to phillipa cant wait for the red queen to be released.

Ms. Gregory brings history to life, read the books in order and enter a world of intrique, witchcraft and the lives of the ruling class during the Wars of the Roses.
Thoroughly enjoyable.

I have enjoyed reading many of Philippa Gregorys Tudor based novels and this is another enjoyable read. I couldn't put it down and would definately recommend it to others. I did feel that this novel just stopped - more so then the others I have read, however still a good read.
