Thouroughly enjoyed this book. If your lookin for a book you can't put down then buy Life of Pi. I was only sad it ended so soon, I suppose thats what happens when you read it flat out for two days!!

 A classic, spoiled

A lovely adventure yarn with an intriguing storyline; a boy and a tiger share a lifeboat together. Up until the last chapter I was ready to declare this one of my favourite books but then...oh dear, what a horrible way to end it. I won't spoil it, but the final chapter of this book is akin to an artist painting an exquisite masterpiece and then purposefully ruining it by throwing a can of black paint at the canvas.

One of my All Time Favourites (of All Time)

Life of Pi is a remarkable novel. It has everything. It also has 'The Best Ending' of any novel I've read.

 The Life of Pi

I was extremely disappointed with this book in the end. I found the first chapters up until the shipwreck absolutely fascinating with the history and from the religious point of view. There really are some very comedic areas in the first part of the book, especially when Pi explains how his name is to be pronounced! After the shipwreck, it just degenerated in to a bloody mass of how he survived by killing this and that. The ending was most disappointing too. I usually share my books with my daughters but knew they would not like all the blood and gore so donated it to the charity shop.
