Liesel, a nine-year-old girl, is living with a foster family on Himmel Street. Her parents have been taken away to a concentration camp. Liesel steals books. This book is a story of: a girl; an accordionist; some fanatical Germans; a Jewish fist fighter; and quite a lot of thievery.

A heart-felt heart-rendering read. While reading it I was so touched on several occasions that I closed the book just to ponder over the significance of what I had read, very poignant. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in the Holocast genre and who is prepared for some hard truths.

 A truely inspiring book
