This book comes with an introduction and notes by Dr Siv Jansson, University of Greenwich. Begun when the author was only eighteen and conceived from a nightmare, "Frankenstein", is the deeply disturbing story of a monstrous creation which has terrified and chilled readers since its first publication in 1818. The novel has thus seared its way into the popular imagination while establishing itself as one of the pioneering works of modern science fiction.

This book explores many themes such as love, pain, regret, revenge, obsession and the most prominent is Viktor playing god. It's a sad story and you find yourself feeling sorry for Viktor and his creation as neither are truly all bad.

Almost definately my favourite ever book & certainly one of the most amazing stories ever crafted. Bitterly painful, tradgic & beautiful all merged with fantastic horror that can only be copied.
I fell through a world of emotions reading this book & although the many, many films do their bit - nothing stands beside this monster of literature.
