Comment: This book is in good or better condition. It has no tears to the pages and no pages will be missing from the book. The spine of the book is still in great condition and the front cover is generally unmarked. It has signs of previous use but overall is in really nice, tight condition. Shipping is normally same day from our UK warehouse. We offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

'This isn't just any cookery book. It is "Mastering the Art of French Cooking", first published in 1961, and it's a book that is a statement, not of culinary intent, but of aspiration, a commitment to a certain sort of good life, a certain sort of world-view; a votive object implying taste and appetite and a little je ne sais quoi. Julia Child was like Amelia Earhart, or Eleanor Roosevelt: she was a hero who'd gone out there and made a difference. Her books are a triumph, and also a trophy' - A.A. Gill, "The Times".

I was dragged to see Julie and Julia by my girlfriend. The best thing about it is the food -- you really want to get out and get cooking. Then surprise, surprise I got given this book -- the book they use in the film -- for Christmas...It is completely brilliant: the best cookbook I've ever used. The recipes are clear and they really work. Try the Boeuf Bourginonne: it's a complete winner
