This book is the closest you will get to a baby manual and it's been invaluable to me with both my children. Each time I was at a loss and completely didn't understand my baby, I would read the relevant chapter in the book and think "Oh, so that's what's going on!" I also love the sections 'What's happening to mum' because we tend to forget that the mum's body (and mind) are going through massive changes as well. I have recommended this book to many of my friends. It can be very reassuring to read certain things and realise your baby is not a freak!

This book is an excellent buy for first time mums like myself. It lets you know everything you need to know about your baby's development, feeding, sleeping patterns etc on a week by week basis. It even tells you things like when you would expect to see your baby's first smile. The authors also, on a week by week basis, tell you how you should be feeling as a new mum, which is nice - especially in the early days when you are feeling very very tired and emotional!! I would recommend this book to anyone - it's like my bible.

Great book, written in a really friendly helpful way, non-judgemental and offers practocal advice and tips on 'obvious' things you may not think of! Highly recommended for first timers like me particularly..

I bought this book for one of my friends when she was pregnant with her first child. She had read a lot of books about pregnancy and motherhood but even so she has said this is the most useful one out of them all as it sets out what to expect and gives peace of mind. Definitely recommend!!

I bought this book after reading some of the other reviews and I can say it was worth every penny. As a first time mum this book has been a god send for advice. The chapters are written week by week, so you have enough time to read the next stage. The advice is great. I would highly recommend this book. It would make an excellent present for any new mum to be.
