Makeup: The Ultimate Guide | Paperback

This has got to be one of the most inspiring make up books that has been published in the last 5 years. Rae's use of colour is very different to what I have seen before and she has created some really beautiful looks. I am a big fan of MAC cosmetics and Rae appears to use a lot of their products in her book. The step by step guides on how to recreate each look are very easy to follow and I have managed to do so with great results and have had many compliments on my make up.

The biggest draw back to this book is the quality of the binding; it is not strong enough to support all the pages as mentioned in other reviews. It's a real shame because it ruins the overall look of the book and I am concered that soon the pages will start to fall out.

I was really looking forward to getting this book which arrived within two working days. I was not dissapointed by the quality of photos and general makeup tips however be warned that for your price you are NOT recieving a hardback. I made the mistake of assuming that forking out 15.49 would get me a quality hardback book that would be an essential part of my book collection for years. Instead i recieved a paperback which could not support the thick pages and as a result the pages have come loose from the front cover. Now when i close the book the middle pages pertrude. After three days of owning the book its falling apart and ive only properly flicked through it twice so as expected i am livid and will be writing to Apple press.

Please be asured that the content is fantastic! Rae Morris gives simple unbias advise that is clear and informative so you can begin to correct where you have gone wrong and build on the skills you already have. There is no product placement so you can use makeup you already own without that familiar pressure to go out and buy exactly what the models are wearing.

Buy the book but make sure its hardback!
