4 Controversial???GraceElisabeth | 30/04/2007 | See all GraceElisabeth's reviews (40)Top 100 Books Reviewer I'm not sure if this book is controversial or not - it certainly gets a lot of mums and mums to be heated up and angry!! others are really quite passionate about it and don't believe their lives would be anywhere near as good without it!! I am 26 weeks pregnany whilst writing this review and have the CLB book from cover to cover - now I am partly frightened but very much clued up!! I don't know whether I will follow Gina Fords rules to a tee - purely because I don't think personally I am able to be THAT organised, however her ideas of bedtime and sleeping through and nursing etc are brilliant - the woman is a genius and is only telling us old fashioned remedies from way back when!! none of this new aged crap where you bargain with children and let them run then RUIN your life, its just common sense, routine makes for a contented child, children need sleep!! the only time she seriously worried me is when she said I should open the curtains at 7.15 and have a piece of toast at 8.15 etc - but they are only guidelines and reminders!! no your baby doesn't read this book and its generally the babies that make the rules, but this book will help you get the baby settled and in a routine as quick as 8 weeks old - I am game if it gives me several hours of sleep back at night!!!
