 Truly Remarkable story

Aron Ralston's account of his actions and thoughts whilst his wrist was trapped were frankly difficult to believe but in the same vein truly remarkable as to he had to overcome the near impossible to ensure survival. The initial chapters are slow, and the climbing terminology difficult to fully understand unless you are a climber!. It is an amazing story that all worked out so positively. Will be interesting to see how Danny Boyle's film compares.

although this is a kind of autobiography about a real life event, this books reads like a thriller: it includes a lot of (oudtdoor)action, a whole lot more of drama and a serious plot.
it's about challenges, taking risks, clear thinking and common sense, being prepared to go all the way for one's dreams, responsability and above all: about courage 'under fire'.
going into specifics would certainly spoil the fun of reading this book yourself, so i'll leave it at this general level and leave the rest to be explored.
i haven't seen the movie yet, but certainly will. with danny boyle as director it promises to be very good.

A really good insight into what Aron Ralston went through! Once youre in the book you are there with Aron, an incredibly vivid retelling of the events that happened in Blue John Canyon. Also the flashbacks are a very nice touch too.
I'd recommend it to:
People who like the film; 127 Hours
Climbers, skiiers, hikers etc.
Anyone who wants a book you wont want to put down.
