A few years ago, psychiatrist Brian Weiss was approached for treatment by Catherine, a 27-year-old suffering from anxiety, depression, panic attacks and phobias. What happened in the course of their sessions together was dramatically to change both of their lives. This book tells the extraordinary story of Catherine's successful treatment and how her case was to make a vital contribution to Dr Weiss's work. As a traditional psychiatrist, Dr Weiss was astonished and sceptical when Catherine, under hypnosis, began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His scepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from the space between lives' from "the masters". These messages contained revelations about Dr Weiss's family and his dead son. Moving and inspiring, this book should be of benefit to psychiatrists, therapists and all those interested in past-life therapy.

 Couldn't put this down!

I came across this book quite by accident and must have read and re-read it at least 5 or 6 times. I'd always consigned regression therapy to being as Victoria Wood puts it 'One of those sessions where you lie back and turn into Florence Nightingale!' and I couldn't have been more wrong. I always try to keep an open mind about such things, after all, we'd all like solid proof, wouldn't we? Dr Weiss has verified much of what his subject has relayed to him - some he has not - but what comes though very clearly is a message that we are all linked in some way - here on Earth to learn and grow and most of all, to love one another. The thought that we all belong to 'soul groups' - that is, the same souls reincarnating time after time in different bodies, as different sexes, different family members and friends is mind-blowing and we will continue to go round and round until we eventually get the lessons right! Also contained within the book are 'messages from the Masters' - insightful and quite beautiful thoughts and ideas about how we might develop as spiritual beings - for me, this has been a good starting point to investigate the subject further. Hope this helps.
