Ender Wiggin is Battle School's latest recruit. His teachers reckon he could become a great leader. And they need one. A vast alien force is headed for Earth, its mission: the annihilation of all human life. Ender could be our only hope. But first he must survive the most brutal military training program in the galaxy...With its explosive storyline, pump-action excitement and hugely engaging central characters, Ender's Game is 2002's absolute must-read for teenaged boys. Forget schools for wizards, this is where the *real* action is.

Absolutely loved this book. A friend told me this was his favorite book ever, I thought that was enough to give it a go. So glad I did! I have read this twice, no joke, finished it and felt compelled to start again.
I am a fan of a good scifi novel and I would put this right up there with my favorites. If you like Dune you will love this!!!

This book is worth the 5 stars. Enders game is at base a Sci Fi Novel but it could also be described as a Psychological genre. Orson's magic with words tug on the mind and really get the read thinking about life and attaching themselves to the characters. I know while I was reading I couldn't help somewhat feeling the emotions that Ender goes through. hatred, Understanding, Love. The book is really clever at not simply being another Sci Fi adventure. It somehow indescribably manages to be, just, well a hell of allot more.

I loved this book. It's rare for me to read a book more than once, but I'm planning to read it a third time. What makes it work for me? I love the way Card has a clear idea about what a fight in microgravity would look like, how he keeps one step ahead of the reader and makes the concept of a battle school for children believable. But most of all, I like the story of Ender, his struggle and choices in an environment that would be hard for anyone, while he is only a child.
I liked the rest of the books in the series. Or more like, they were OK. But Ender's Game is special, different for the rest, and this is the one I find myself thinking about rather often. Just read it, you won't be disappointed.
