Striking, character-driven and cynical noir fantasy.

 ENJOYABLE, BUT....

It is not a bad series but not really gripping. I liked the idea that all the main characters are flawed in some major way, constantly alternating between their cruel actions and their better intentions.

 Excellent conclusion

All the characters are human, they have flaws, ambitions, fears, the feel cold when its cold, and often wished they'd gone to the latrine before a battle. well rounded is the description. This is an excellent conclusion to an excellent series and there's a twist - don't read the last page first!!!
