Read this book last year after hearing about it through friends. Could not put it down. Belles life is fascinating and i love the fact that this book is very raw in its content. It is detailed to perfection and you end up sympathising with her over her everday issues that affect her work and romantic ones. Although the book is based on her profession as a call girl, you really get to know the character very well. The book is not like to be like the tv show at all. The show does not portray the character to her full glory and only with reading the book can you understand more about the character of belle. Overall a very funny, gritty, sexy book that will make you gasp and laugh at the same time. If you like this you will love her next one, The Further Adventures of a London Call Girl.
This I expected to be similar to Miss S 'Confessions of a Working Girl', it's not, it's written by someone with an obvious grasp of the English language but.. it is so crude even compared to Miss S. I wanted to read this before the TV series airs on 27 September 2007 and, not withstanding that that is indeed Billie Piper on the cover of the book, there is no way they can dramatise this-can they? I can't wait to see what you other readers make of this-my Jury is definitely out so I give it 4 stars for shock.
I got this book after seeing the TV series; I don't think the tv series does it justice actually, theres a lot more that goes into this story than what meets the eye. It follows the adventures of a high class escort girl living and working in London, very funny and entertaining. Worth a read even if you are not a fan of the tv series.
I found this book quite hard to get in to. It was rather slow and seemed too preoccupied with trying to shock the reader with explicit sexual detail than actually engrossing the reader with any kind of literary competence.
I bought this book yesterday and I am very dissapointed by the read so far! I had high expectations after hearing that the tv series was a hit! Not the case. I have also read Confessions of a call girl and this book was a great read. I couldn't put it down!
This book is boring, and not very understandable. The writer doesnt go into much depth with her description of things!Where as the other book left little to the imagination. Glad i paid next to nothing for it!
