I'd class myself as a pretty good cook so I didnt know whether to pleased or miffed when my husband bought me this title... How to be a better cook!!
Loads of info on different cuts of meat, lovely receipes for rabbit and duck also included which makes a nice change. The receipes are easy enough to follow. Can honesty say that the Meatball receipe (pg92) is divine (the whole family love it & the kids like to help roll the meatballs) it takes a bit longer to prepare and cook then the average evening meal but the end result is definately worth it. I have not bought a ready made pasta sauce since I'e had this book. Some of the receipes I just wouldn't try - I can't see me gutting a squid or killing a live lobster but even the things I won't try make interesting reading.
Some basic receipes like homemade custard & mayonaise which I'd got into the habit of just buying but the homemade custard makes a homemade crumble or pie just that little bit special. Some different ideas on how to cook veggies and make them a little bit more interesting. Overall a lovely book with good illustrations. value for money

 Great present

I bought this book for my mum 2006 christmas she was very pleased it helped with certain things and she told me that it is a presant that will be well used, this book is a good presant for anyone who is a good cook or likes too cook (it doesn't even need too be a present) .
