I really enjoyed this book. Whilst reading it, I could almost imagine her voice telling me the tales in person...her sarcasm & wit came through. This is a frank, honest autobiography which will appeal to most readers. It was easy reading & humourous. In this book, she only shares her life experiences prior to making it as a comedian...so I expect later in the future a follow-up will be written.
Although the book started well with all the usual early family history, I quickly realised that given Jo Brand's age, I was rapidly nearing the end with three quarters of the book read and her only being in her early 20's. The last 20 pages or so of the book only took the reader up to about 1990. It ended suddenly with the reader wondering where the last 20 years of her life had disappeared to. It felt like she got bored and went off to do something much more interesting.
