since reading this book i can see how unoriginal stephenie meyers twilight really is. even though i enjoyed the twilight saga, she copied ideas from these books on so many levels. great book, would recomend.

  Loved it!

I think the Twilight books left a lot of people wanting more vampire sagas and these books do the trick! Eventhough these books pre-date the Twilight saga by over ten years they don't feel dated at all. They're a lot different from the TV show but Stefan and Damon are still smoking hot. If you liked the Twilight books give these a try - they're a real bargain for the price!

Being a Twilight fan myself, i wanted to read more like the saga books, i have just purchased the next book of the vampire diaries as i have enjoyed it that much, also to go along with it the new series is out which ive managed to see. It doesnt match up to the book but its good to understand more, i would recommend anyone to buy it although the love between them is not as greater than Bella and Edwards, its still good.

Good, But there are better books out there.

I enjoyed this book, if it was a little slow at first. If you like me and is working my way through all the vampire novels ever written then you will enjoy this. However if you have just read Twilight, and are looking for the same thing i wouldnt suggest this book, read the sookie stackhouse series instead.

This book is def not to be read if you have just put yourself in the life of Bella and Edward... it does not compare... but then again I am a die hard twilight fan! The plot is basically the same apart from alot more blood sharing.. It was a quick and easy read... Very predictable ending.. but overall worth a read

I first read (and re-read then read again) these books over 10 years ago when I was at school, and when this whole Twilight phenomenon kicked in I dug out my old battered copies with fond memories & told everyody how twilight reminded of these books I loved so much when I was growing up. I read all 4 books so many times over and over, and I often think back to the characters. Even aged 26 I am enjoying reading them again now! I am delighted to see they are now on the New York Times best sellers list 16 years after they were originally published, congratulations L.J. Smith! Anyone who loves Twilight will definitely love these books too!
