It looks at things starting with an absolute beginners point of view with clear illustration. Beatmixing is covered with counting beats and understanding structures (this is a must for any DJ to understand).
Scratching is covered in its basic forms.
More advanced techniques such as set building and harmonic mixing are covered in detail to help you avoid horrendous melodic clashes while you are mixing. No one on a dancefloor likes loud music that sounds awful especially when a little planning can help it be avoided.

In conclusion then.......Whether you are a novice or a more advanced DJ there is something in here for you - don't be fooled by the title. I've ran my free DJ tutorial site (djmandrick.com) for the best part of ten years and have been mixing since 1995. There were bits in here I found useful.

A beginner will read it cover to cover, the more advanced will broaden their horizon/knowledge and pick at each section in smaller chunks I should imagine.

A great purchase, a good read and a handy reference for any DJ no matter what genre you play or what level you are at.
