Lara has always had an overactive imagination. Now she wonders if she is losing her mind. Normal twenty-something girls just don't get visited by ghosts. But inexplicably, the spirit of Lara's great aunt Sadie - in the form of a bold, demanding Charleston-dancing girl - has appeared to make one last request.

Top 100 Books Reviewer

I've just finished this book and all i want to do is start it all over again! I sat down with this book and hardly put it down, except to sleep, i even read it while eating! It has everything a good book needs, fantastic characters, two love stories, mysteries, family drama and the perfect ending. Each character is so well written that they all remain in your mind clearly afterwards. There are loads of historically interesting and accurate details given to the reader by Sadie. This is one book i'm definitely recommending to every female member of my family and friends.

Even better than her other books

I have enjoyed all Sophie Kinsella's books but this one stands above the others.

The story revolves around Lara, who is struggling to understand why her boyfriend, Josh, split up with her. She's also trying to cope with a failing headhunting business after her supposed friend and partner disappeared on holiday to Goa. In the midst of this confusion, Lara attends the funeral of her great aunt Sadie, a woman she barely knew. However, it looks like Sadie isn't really ready to move on and her ghost begins to spend rather a lot of time with Lara in the guise of her twenty-something flapper former self. Sadie is obsessed with finding a particular necklace and ropes Lara into helping her. Along the way, she is rather distracted by a handsome man that she likes the look of and wants to date- something of a problem when you're a ghost, invisible to everyone except your great-niece.
I really enjoyed the humour in this book, mainly stemming from Sadie's outrageous behaviour, and I laughed out loud many times. However, the story of Sadie's necklace evolves into something more than just an amusing family mystery and her attempts to date a total stranger change Lara's life as well. I found the last 50-60 pages of the book extremely satisfying and very moving in an unexpected way and I shed quite a few tears. Tears and laughter- the perfect combination.

I highly recommend this book.

 Magical and endearing!!

I love this book I highly recommend it! Its a book everyone can relate to. It explores the answers people want when finishing a relationship and the excitement of starting a new one. Its really endearing how the two characters Sadie and Lara are from different times and yet are so close. It shows the strengths and weaknesses of family and how far loyalty goes. This is a magical story and a truly special ending. Definitely read this!!

This book was brilliant, a very bizarre concept, but absolutely loved it. Her books just get better and better.
