In a derelict cottage in L.A, a young woman is found savagely murdered. Naked, strung from two wooden posts, the skin has been ripped from her face - while she was still alive. On the nape of her neck is carved a strange double-cross: the signature of a psychopath known as the Crucifix Killer. But that's not possible. Because, two years ago, the Crucifix Killer was caught and executed. Could this be the work of a copycat? Or is Homicide Detective Robert Hunter forced to face the unthinkable? Is the real Crucifix Killer still out there, taunting Hunter with his inability to catch him? Robert Hunter and his rookie partner are about to enter a nightmare beyond imagining ...

What a cracking first book from Chris Carter. I know it's a cliche but I really could not put this book down! From the very first page it grips like a vice! Inventive deaths the like of which I've not come across before in other crime novels. I highly recommend this debut book and I guarantee my fellow readers you will not be disappointed........

 What a great read!

I really couldn't put this book down...
I read the Executioner first which my husband bought as a xmas pressies, otherwise I may never had discovered what a fantastic author Chris Carter is. Am completely hooked and can't wait for the Night Stalker to come out...

A great debut novel, best book I've read in ages - I can't wait to read The Executioner and The Night Stalker too, If these books are half as good as The Crucifix Killer then i will not be disappointed

I highly recommend this book

A fantastic read, couldnt put it down. Keeps you guessing right to the end and then you will never believe the end. I normally stick with Patricia Cornwell and Kathy Reichs but Chris Carter is most certainly the same league. Just bought the Executioners and after first few chapters the book is as good as the first. Excellent A+++
