After enjoying 'The Painted Man' so much I was keen to carry on the story and 'The Desert Spear' did not disappoint. I found this book incredibly difficult to put down and look forward to the third instalment.
While I found the first book very well written but a touch predictable this book has twisted the plot so I'm not sure how the story will end up - I just hope he doesn't take the cop-out happy ending approach in the third book which would devalue all the hard work he's put into developing the characters to date.
There are frequent adult themes in the book which make it unsuitable for younger readers.
The prologue lead me to believe this book might not be all that its cracked up to be. But after the the first page on chapter one I immediatley knew this would be an excellent book. The characters keep you gripped aswell as the story. After the first book you think you get the story, however there are afew twists and turns. A brilliant read overall.
After reading part one I had high expectations for part two and I wasn't disappointed. I became fully immersed in the story and could not put the book down.
Bring on part three!!!!!!!!!!
Started reading this with high hopes because of the first book "painted man" and i have got to say it did not disapoint from start to finish. if i could i would give it more than 5 stars
I loved this!! I read the Painted Man and was delighted by how quickly I was absorbed. This was one and the same. I couldn't put it down. Cant wait until the next the one.
Peter's sequel to 'The Painted Man' is just as engaging and entertaining as the first book. A tight storyline, developed characters and a detailed world plagued with corelings. Cant wait for the third book!
What a great second book read it in 2 days just couldn;t stop reading
Not yet finished reading it, only 100 pages to go but up to press it has been an outstanding read and on par with the first novel, characters develop evermore and brett manages to intertwine the characters with splendid ease. A must buy for those who enjoyed the first.
I enjoyed the book but the first 100-200 are on the same person i think it should have been a character in the first book rather than all in one block in the second.Still great book cant wait for the third.
