This is a terrific book. Very easy to understand with clear step-by-step instructions for getting the best out of your digital camera. Thoroughly recommended, even for those who have owned a digital camera for some time.
I found the example photos particularly useful - they show you exactly what to expect in different situations and help you to understand when you're going wrong.
Got this book for Xmas from my missus having always struggled to use my camera...
Found this book really informative and easy to read. The explanations are clear and concise with lots of excellant tips hints. The quality of photo's that I am now taking are much better than before.
Will be buying a copy for my parents for their birthdays!
Knowing my total ineptitude with anything technical, my father got me this book along with a new digital camera for my birthday, and it is miraculous - in minutes I was using functions I never knew existed with the ease of a geek!
This book is clear and concise without being patronising, and is very user-friendly. I really can't praise it highly enough - its easy reference means I haven't had to learn everything either, I can just look it up when I need it. (now i'm sounding lazy, as well as stupid!)
I must say, its worth its weight in gold for anyone who, like me, is not a natural with technology. Though my father learned a couple of new tricks from flicking through it too!
Highly recommended.....
I received this book as a gift and it was one of the best presents I have received in ages. It is really easy to understand and so simple to put into practical use.
There is no geeky jargon, it is easy to read and there are images and illustrations to show how to use my camera properly in all sorts of different situations.
I threw it in my camera bag last weekend and actually found myself getting it out to check how to take a photo in bright sunshine (a rare thing in London :o) ) My photos tuned out great.
I will be taking it everywhere with me in the future and it is on the top of my list of "presents for friends" this year.
If only there was a Gadget Scientist book for other gadgets.
