I started watching the TV series of The Vampire Diaries, when I found out there were books too, I just had to get them! The books are very different to the TV series however they are all a great read! I couldn't put the books down once starting to read and I had to buy them all, highly recommend!

I absoloutely love this book and think it is a great adaptation from the other books that were written in the 90's - they all have mobiles now! There are a few unexpected twists and a side of Damon that we've never seen before. A must read!

i have never been a huge fan of the vampire dairies books, although i do enjoy them, for this one, their were a few times when it excited me and made me want to read on, but i think it dragged out a bit, a good plot line, but not enough to make me want to keep reading, which i will anyway just to see if the next one is good or not.

Well I have to say I really enjoyed all of the vampire diaries books up until now. I found it a little petty and trivial although it may be that I am just too old to be reading this book. I am 25 so perhaps that has something to do with it though it has never been a problem before :-s I didn't enjoy the plot much and everything just went too rosie if you know what i mean. I am not sure what i'm trying to say but all in all i was glad to have finished it and not in the good way. I was highly disappointed and I don't know if i will read the next one.

When will the next one be out?!

These books are absolutely amazing!! I'd seen the first 4 (split into 2 books) and I was tempted to get them, me being a fan of the Twilight Saga. I've never even slightly regretted the decision to buy them. I lent them to a friend and now we can't get over how amazing they are! Admittedly though, "The Return Trilogy" is a lot more confusing than the first 4 books, but after reading this book, it helped me understand it a lot more!! The detail put into the book is fantastic! The ending is unbelievable! I can't believe the next one might not be out til next November!! By the end of this book I was left with my head in my hands and my chin touching the floor! Recommend to any Twilight fans and especially teenage Twilight fans! Can't wait for the next/final book!

So, I just finished the book about 10 minutes ago. My general feeling of the book was... a mixture of disappointment and confusion. The previous book in this series, Nightfall was a confusing mixture of words and was so hard to follow at times that I had to re-read the page I was on several times! Although this book was much more "put together" it was still quite challenging at times and very frustrating! I enjoyed the Elena Damon interaction, and I know at some point she will have to choose the brother she likes more (Did she officially choose?), and I think Damon has a lot more character and feeling than Stefan.
Also, did anyone think the ending was rushed and confusing? I totally was like: "What is going on right now?" at least 3 times during the last few pages. And the last part where Damon was human? Come on, really? The ending was terrible, the beginning boring and the middle somewhat interesting.
The books story line had great potential, but I think it definitely did not live up to it's full potential

i loved this book..this has got to be my best vampire diarie book so far...it follows on from the last book.elena and damon are off to the dark dimension to rescue stefan.elena loves stefan so much but the more time she is with damon she sees a nice side to him and they become quite close..elena has to go through a lot of pain to help stefan, damon does his best to help her anyway he can..[think he truly does have strong feelings for elena ]..everyone is there to help elena, boonie, meredith, matt, mrs flowers.there are also some new characters too[ sage ,,a handsome vampire..]there are lots of twists and turns in this story.i really enjoyed the vampire diaries series.... they are good supernatural books with great characters and plots...truly good writing by l.j.smith...only downside is that we have to wait for november 2011 for the final book to come out.......
