Three armies march on New Prentisstown, each one intent on destroying the others. Todd and Viola are caught in the middle, with no chance of escape. As the battles commence, how can they hope to stop the fighting? How can there ever be peace when they're so hopelessly outnumbered? And if war makes monsters of men, what terrible choices await?

Absolutely great book. The story from the first 2 books really picks up when all-out war kicks off and the series reaches its conclusion.

The story twists and turns, the characters are still amazingly written and fascinating studies of humanity (or otherwise), and the mayor is still one of the most sinister and unpredictable characters I have come across.

This really is everything you'd expect from the finale of these electrifying books, and probably more. Constant twists and turns between good and evil, you're constantly left guessing where each character stands! I read this book in a matter of hours, and it's a large book, I just couldn't stop myself. Be warned though, this book is not for the faint hearted. It contains some of the most brutal imagery and horrific scenes I've ever come across in a book, it really brings home just how terrifying war is. The ending is typical of the series so far, unpredictable up until the very last pages. I urge everyone to give this entire series a read, it really is amazing in every way.
