Elizabeth Gilbert is in her thirties, she has a husband, a house, and they're trying for a baby - she doesn't want any of it. A bitter divorce and a turbulent love affair later, she emerges battered and bewildered and realises it is time to pursue her own journey in search of three things she has been missing: pleasure, devotion and balance.

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down - it is just so interesting. Indeed, for any woman who has eaten, prayed or loved then READ THIS BOOK ....... fascinating and inspiring story of being true to yourself and finding peace in the world.

The Book is a really good read but i found at times difficult to keep on reading and i wasnt sure whether it was because I couldn't really relate to the character or whether it was for some other reason but i would recommend it to read as she does tell some funny and interesting stories

 really dissapointed

I had brought this book because a couple of friends recommended it and obviously it has had a lot of media attention.
I have to say i really found it tough to read, especially when she got to the Ashram in India....i almost gave up!
It did get a little better towards the end but it was really over-rated and set me up for a disapointment!

 I loved it

I started reading this and had finished within a week. I thought it was funny and interesting and i thoroughly enjoyed it

Yes, i agree with some of the other reviews, in that it is fairly self indulgent, but that is to be expected with this kind of story. I found a lot of the anecdotes entertaining, plus lots of interesting things about the countries she visits as she goes along. It's very genuine and honest and that comes across throughout. It feels very real

I could relate to the character is some ways and not others; i think if you cannot relate at all then you will probably find this book a little heavy going and stuggle to keep interest.

 Fantastic!!!!

This book is fantastic, every woman should read it. It's funny, witty and totally honest. I wasn't aware that it was autobiographical and normally I can't stand those type of books, however I loved this book instantly ans was completely absorbed in her world. A great one for the girlies.
