'Will you marry me?' I think of you, then. I think of you every day. But usually in the quietest part of the morning, or the darkest part of the night. Not when my boyfriend of two years has just proposed. I look up at Richard with his hopeful eyes. 'Lily?' he prompts. It's been ten years, but it feels like only yesterday that you left. How can I say yes to Richard with all my heart when most of it has always belonged to you? I take a deep breath and will myself to speak...Ten years ago when Lily was just sixteen, she fell in love with someone she really shouldn't have fallen in love with. Now, living in Sydney and engaged to another man, she can't forget the one that got away. Then her past comes back to haunt her, and she has to make a decision that will break her heart - and the heart of at least one of the men who love her.

Like catching up with old friends

I have read all of Paige Toon's books and one of the things I love about them is that although they are stand alone novels she still brings back characters from previous stories so that you can see what is happening in their lives.

This story is about a girl called Lily who moved to Australia with her mum when she was 15 and fell in love with someone she shouldn't have, Ben a man 10 years her senior. Fast forward 10 years and the story picks up again with her relationship with Richard and how she still thinks about Ben and how is affects her current relationship.

I love the writing style of these books and how Paige makes the characters so believable and lovable. The heroines usually make mistakes which to makes them all the more human. The descriptions of Australia are great and I wish I could go there. I was a little worried about the story line to begin with, a teenage girl falling in love with someone older, I thought it would be some girly crush and pervy man but it felt like true love, you could feel the attraction and the pain.

There are mentions of characters from her previous books but one character, Lucy, from Lucy in the Sky, features quite heavily. Although this is a stand alone novel I would suggest you read Lucy in the Sky first as it will spoil the book for you if you read it later.

I would recommend this book to any of my friends and I'm really looking forward to Paige's next offering.

 Seriously....Loved It!!!!!

I love Paige Toon!, I really enjoyed this book as much as her other books, again I couldn't put it down and finished it in just two nights.

The story builds very nicely, and you can't help but really like all of Paige's characters. The story starts with Lily in the present day, being asked if she'll marry her boyfriend, (but Lily still hankers for her first love, Ben who she met ten years ago) we then go back the ten years and find out how she met Ben and fell in love.

This is a true joy to read, the only down side was when I came to the end! With all Paige's books it's really nice to catch up with previous characters' from her last books, (this time we meet up with Lucy and Nathan, from "Lucy in the Sky".

A really good idea for a story, I seriously....loved it!!!
