5 Like catching up with old friendsMonika84 | 08/12/2010 | See all Monika84's reviews (14)I have read all of Paige Toon's books and one of the things I love about them is that although they are stand alone novels she still brings back characters from previous stories so that you can see what is happening in their lives. This story is about a girl called Lily who moved to Australia with her mum when she was 15 and fell in love with someone she shouldn't have, Ben a man 10 years her senior. Fast forward 10 years and the story picks up again with her relationship with Richard and how she still thinks about Ben and how is affects her current relationship.I love the writing style of these books and how Paige makes the characters so believable and lovable. The heroines usually make mistakes which to makes them all the more human. The descriptions of Australia are great and I wish I could go there. I was a little worried about the story line to begin with, a teenage girl falling in love with someone older, I thought it would be some girly crush and pervy man but it felt like true love, you could feel the attraction and the pain. There are mentions of characters from her previous books but one character, Lucy, from Lucy in the Sky, features quite heavily. Although this is a stand alone novel I would suggest you read Lucy in the Sky first as it will spoil the book for you if you read it later.I would recommend this book to any of my friends and I'm really looking forward to Paige's next offering.
