This is one of my favourite series of books so I was looking forward to this next installment. I really enjoyed reading this book it provided intrigue, romance, action and the occasional humor. However I found that I didnt really like the ending to this book I felt it was a bit abrupt and as a result it was like cut off mid sentance is the overall ending I felt to this book.

Love the book series but not sure about this one

Having read all the Sookie stories i was a bit disappointed with this book, for a start didnt think it was long enough, would love a much longer book. Also, didnt think much really happened and many of ususal characters didnt feature enough. It all felt a bit rushed, dramatic scene in Fangtasia was bit of let down.Worth the read if you follow the series just hope next one will be more exciting!

  another disappointment

Like many others I have loved the True Blood books but was disappointed with Book 10 - Dead in the family. I read numerous reviews saying that Charlaine Harris was back to her best in this book however I felt there was little spark or story compared to her previous books and was left very disappointed.

  The Worst of the books

I love the True Blood books but feel let down by this book. It seems that this book was just rushed to get out without actually having much of a story.

  Very good book

I love this series and it was a good book but it's not my favourite one I'm afraid, though it did clear up a lot of the questions I had that were raised in the previous ones. This book should definatly be read.

Just finished reading this (received yesterday couldnt put it down lol) glad to see that we're finally learning more about Sookie now but sad that there will only be 2 more books after this :'( . All in all this is a brill book to the series (like they all are!) All a must read if your into the True blood program.

  Back to her best

I felt a bit let down by Dead in the Family but this was still a must read for me. This was Ms Harris back to her best - there was a good solid story behind it although I felt the book should have been longer - but this is only because I didn't want it to finish as I now have to wait months to find out what happens!!! All in all another brilliant chapter in Sookies life - I want to know what is going to happen with her love life now!!

  Good not Brilliant.

Ive read all the other books and i was much anticipating this one....i got through it in a few days with the usual much finish attitude but i found it disappointing and the ending very rushed. Good news is there will prob be another one though....

  Just O.K

I was eagerly waiting for this latest "Sookie" offering from Charlaine, especially as (I felt) her last book fell a little short of the previous books in the series. This was definitely better than the last book (Dead in the Family) however I still don't feel it was off the same level as earlier books.

This was just O.K, it did give you more insight into lots of things, including where Sookie gained her telepathic powers from, and also lots more info on the world of the fae (which was really interesting) however, It felt a little slow to get going to me, and I felt the book could have been a little longer. Still, it does leave me wanting to read to the next book just as much as I always have.

I would recomend to anyone new to the series, to read the series in order from the start to fully appreciate the overall story, If you haven't read Charlaine's "Sookie" series before, it's great, and one of my all time favourites!! (Highly reccomended).

  Harris back to her best!!

The Sookie Stackhouse series of books has to be my favourite ever and I have devoured each and every one . . until Book 10 which was very disappointing, unloved, and left me wondering could the author return to form after such a poor story. I am pleased to say YES SHE HAS!!
Book 11 is Harris at her best and you will not be able to put it down. I worried that when I pre-ordered it wouldn't live up to my high expectations but it really has. It is fast paced, exciting, chock full of action and left me wanting more . . . . the scene has been set for book 12 and it looks like it could well be amazing!! - Don't be put off if Book 10 let you down, Book 11 more than makes up for it :)
