Prince Gar now has the magic for Weather Working and is able to keep his enemies at bay, while Asher has become the most powerful Olken in the history of Lur. Peace and prosperity seem assured for the two of them. But Morg, the evil sorcerer mage, remains trapped inside a shattered body. He knows his time is running out and that desperate measures are called for. Unwittingly, Gar and Asher become caught up in a dangerous deception which threatens to tear apart the kingdom and destroy the fragile balance between Olken and Doranen. And no one, not even Dathne and her secret Circle, is prepared for the consequences when the Innocent Mage is revealed at last ...

 Worth the read

Obviously this in the second book which carries the story on from 'The Innocent Mage', I'll first state my reason for only the 4 stars.
The first book is great and it builds the story up and the characters profiles, this book continues the story and is as gripping as the first but the only problem is that with all the build up of the story and the characters the ending feels all too quick. Thats not to say that this book isn't worthy of reading... far from it, over all if I rated the story as a whole and not just the two books I'd give it 5 stars.

I would highly recommend reading both books as you will feel lost if you have read the first and you don't read this!
To date this is still one of the most gripping stories I have read and I will be reading both the books again.

A poor conclusion to an overall good story

The first book was well laid out, it was a good exploration of the characters and their interactions through out. I have to admit I rather enjoyed the first book and was really looking forward to the second.
But after reading it I feel a little cheated, there is a large build up to the fullfillment of prophicy running through both books but when it finally happens its a bit of an anti-climax. The ending and Asher's coming to accept his powers is a bit rushed, there is no real attempt to explain his attempts to master his powers, rather we are told of his training second hand and behold he's ready to fight the bad guy in a single day!
I did enjoy the first half of this book but I fell that the author really rushed an ending which really could have been better. If you enjoyed the first book, certainly read the second but don't expect it to live up to the promise of the first.
Overall, It was not a book I really enjoyed the ending sullied the story and left me felling rather cheated, as if it was finished to a deadline, rather than to conclude the story
