Think of Keri Smith's "Wreck This Journal" as the anarchist's Artist's Way - the book for those who've always wanted to draw outside the lines but were afraid to do it. For anyone who's ever wished to, but had trouble starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes "Wreck This Journal", an illustrated book featuring a subversive collection of suggestions, asking readers to muster up their best mistake - and mess-making abilities to fill the pages of the book (and destroy them). Through a series of creatively and quirkily illustrated prompts, acclaimed artist Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in 'destructive' acts - poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, colouring outside the lines, and more - in order to experience the true creative process. With Keri Smith's unique sensibility, readers are introduced to a new way of art and journal making, discovering novel ways to escape the fear of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process.Bestselling author Keri Smith is a freelance illustrator by trade, and has illustrated for the "Washington Post", "The New York Times", "Ford Motor Company", "People", "The Body Shop" and "Hallmark". She is the author of "Wreck This Journal", "How to be an Explorer of the World" and "Mess: The Manual of Accidents and Mistakes". She lives in Canada.

This book is amazing. It's loads of fun, for kids, for adults, it really doesn't matter what age you are.
The main idea is in the title, if you follow the instructions you really do end up wrecking the journal. It's so much fun when you're doing it, and it's also just fun to look back on.
Honestly thinking about buying another so that I can go through it all again!

 Wrecking good time

So much fun and creative. Follow simple instructions and be as creative as you like! I googled a few completed ones before buying... its amazing what people come up with. It's one purchase you'll never regret (unless you give it away haha)

 Lots of fun

I bought this just to try. It is not going to teach you the reason for living but it will show you how most of the constrains are actually created by our selfves. My boyfriend and I keep getting back to it every now and again and do a couple of pages and have a laugh, it is brilliant. It can even be good for children or as an entertainment on the side in a party. Great little "bomb book" specially for that money
