I tried to put off reading this book for a while as i didnt want the journey of the past few years to end, however it had to and so i read it. I found myself losing hours in a second and instead of keeping things in my head i actually shouted at the book when things happened that i couldnt believe.
I have waited for this book for years and to actually reach the end of such an epic journey was quite sad. The final battle has come and everything is on the line. all the characters you have grown to know stand together to fight, a desperate fight which unfortunately isnt without its casualities. By the end of the book, i couldnt believe how gutted i was for the characters who died. no book has ever captured me like this before.
After following the characters from the begining and seeing them develop you really do feel an affinity for them, which is all down to the brillant work by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. They make you see every blade of grass and feel the world around you breathe.
I have read many books and series. This series had me hooked from book one, i did find however that things slowed down towards the later books but then in the last 3 or 4 books the pace picked up again and you were dragged through battles, loves, loss, good and evil at a pace that left you breathless.
I recommed these books to everyone i can. In my mind they are better than lord of the rings, they go deeper and by the end of it you actually feel like you know the characters and what they would do before they do it.
I tip my hat to both authors and now set about the task of finding something that with enthrall me as much......i feel it will be a very very long search.
In the mean time.....i think i shall start the series again :)
