She turns to the future in a world that's falling apart. For sixteen-year-old Tris, the world changes in a heartbeat when she is forced to make a terrible choice. Turning her back on her family, Tris ventures out, alone, determined to find out where she truly belongs. Shocked by the brutality of her new life, Tris can trust no one. And yet she is drawn to a boy who seems to both threaten and protect her. The hardest choices may yet lie ahead...A debut novel that will leave you breathless.

I loved this book. I am usually drawn to dystopian fiction and wasn't sure what I was going to think of this; was it a cheesy teen romance? It was a great read though, I would highly recommend it. I'm 28 (a fairly jaded and cynical 28), and I was completely drawn into the story and loved the characters. Tris is no pathetic little defenceless wet blanket with no discernable personality (cough cough, Twilight reference), and I loved the idea of the separate factions. Very worthwhile read.

Forget petta, i would rather have four!

Y/A dystopian at it's best! Bought this book when i was greaving after i had finished the hunger games trillogy and i have to admit i had low expectations BUT... i loved this book and i loved it even more than HG. This book is a must for anyone who loves young adult or dystopian or books in general. This story is brilliant!

Very interesting start for a new series!

I liked this book much, it goes to similar audience than Twilight and Harry Potters, but what I loved in this book was a strong female heroine; she is enough just being a normal girl, and her skills are learned by work and effort, not magical or inhuman. Also true friendship and cute first love are shown well between the characters. I really liked the futuristic theme and hope the possibilities of the setting will be used well in sequel and maybe other books if the series continues. It ended way too soon (even being a big book) and made me want to read more. :)
