I took a few books on holiday and this turned out to be one of them. I had seen the new hit film advertised but thoroughly enjoy reading and so i thought i'd give this one a shot.
Never have i had a book that i have been unable to put down as much as this one. It was indulging and the way Gruen writes gives you such an insight of the characters which make you feel like you know them as people. The book is wonderful, filled with love, hate, regret, tradegy.
Would highly recommend.

  Absolutely ADORED this book!

I had heard about the film and thought that because the books are usually better; I would read it. I never expected it to be so wonderful. - The best book I have ever read! I laughed and cried many times (with both laughter and sadness).

Since reading it I have let many friends and family members borrow my book and they have told me that they all felt the same - a very well written book with an incredibly heartwarming story.
I also liked the fact that Sara Gruen added her story to the back, explaining where her ideas came from and why she decided to write the book. It made me feel that I really understood the story behind the book.

I'm looking forward to reading it again very soon! :)

I was reccomended this by a friend and I neardy didnt read this as I didnt think I would enjoy it but I am so glad I did read it as it was completely amazing. I read this book in just 24 hours and the story just grips you right from the beggining, there is some animal cruelty in this book which at times was hard to read but aside from that its a classic love story set within the vicinity of a working road circus in the 1930's and the way its written makes you completely fall in love with the characters. I now cannot wait for the DVD release in September.

  a page turner !
