*The No. International Bestseller.

As the only woman homicide inspector in San Francisco, Lindsay Boxer has to be tough. But nothing she has seen prepares her for the horror of the honeymoon murders, when a brutal maniac begins viciously slaughtering newlywed couples on their wedding nights. Lindsay is sickened by the deaths, but her determination to bring the murderer to justice is threatened by her own personal tragedy. So she turns to Claire; a leading coroner, Cindy; a journalist and Jill; a top attorney, for help with both of
her crises, and the Women's Murder Club is born.

"Patterson knows where our deepest fears are buried...there's no stopping his imagination" - New York Times

Top 100 Books Reviewer

James Patterson has done it again. He writes from a women's perspective very well. Boxer is tough, but with a vulnerable side which makes her very likeable. She suffers from personal tragedy on more than one occassion in the plot, but with the help of the Women's Murder Club she is unstoppable. Guys fear not, this series is not a lame excuse of girl power or only for fanatical feminists. Boxer is not butch, but gritty as is the plot. The murders are horrific, the pace is quick and the storyline is thrilling. Miss this at your peril!

Good story ruined by the central premis

The central idea of this franchise daft - but if you can get past the ridiculous notion that these 4 women would "work together outside the system in order to get results", then the story is entertaining enough.

 AMAZING

An absolute stunning opening to the book which had me hooked the whole way through. Its one of those books where you think you've figured out the ending but in fact theres a completely different outcome. I thought the killer "Phillip Cambell" was probably one of the best fictional killers i have ever come across.

 What a starter!

The minute you get introduced to Lindsay Boxer you never want harm to come to her. The women's murder club is and incredible series of books, I will pass a small warning that the plots of some of the later series get a little lost at times. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are fantastic. I am yet to read 8 and 9 but do not let me put you off. Patterson is an incredible writer and if you love this series you will love the Cross series too. I have never read a bad James Patterson book. 1st to Die will grip you from the being and make you stay up all night to get to the end!
