The Big Sleep | Paperback

This is a very good detective book. It keeps you guessing right until the very end but eventhough the plots are slightly different i like the 1946 film version better. There is a lot of things in the book that would not have been allowed on film at the time so a lot of the story had to be re-written. The main character marlowe is very witty as he has much a the books best lines. One of the best books of the last 100 years

I had to buy this book to study for sixth form. i thought it would just be the normal boring books what you get but to my surprise i started looking forward to english because of this book!

A fantastic read and exactly what you would expect of a classic private eye novel. The story unfolds in suitably cryptic way and Phillip Marlow is as tough as they come, other such novels pale in comparison.
