I had this book recommended to me over 10 years ago. Its great - particularly good if cooking for many - I cooked curry for 40 people using this - it made it all so much easier. It will impress your dinner guests. I make the sauce in big batches and freeze it in portions which makes it even easier/better.

What a revelation!!!!!!! Follow the recipes to the letter and you make authentic curries! None of this buying of expensive spices for something that tastes curry-ish.
What a find!!

  Love this Cook Book

I love Indian food and of course everyone loves a takeaway curry. I wanted to cook my own tasty food but without paying a fortune. This book is fantastic, the finished result is lovely and very easy to follow. You do have to make a sauce but once this has been made then you can go for it. You make a large batch and then you freeze it in batches and nearly all the receipes use this sauce. I have to say I enjoyed every min of making the sauce, word of warning you need a food processor or you will be chopping onions forever.

For all Chicken Tikka Massala lovers in my opinion this was so much better than a takeaway. My friends and family loved it and have asked for the cook book.

  Great Curry book

This is a great book. The curry sauce guide is the best part, and once it's done, the curry world is your oyster. It takes a bit of time to prepare, but worth it. The curries tasted alot fresher than from my takeaway, and it gave me a good chance to try new dishes i wouldn't normally dare to pay for. Although warning to everyone, make sure you have a good extractor fan, because the house will smell for a few days when making the curry sauce. It's not an unpleasant smell, just strong. I loved the currys from this book and will continue to experiment. good job.

Excellent - Delivers exactly what it promises

This book is a must for anyone who enjoys restaurant curries, including the grease and strong wonderfull mix of flavours. If you prefer traditional indian food, or if you just don't like oily recipes then this is not for you......
The recipes are easy to follow and as long as you do follow to the letter, you'll get an exact replica of the curries served in the restaurant. The results are truely amazing.
The base sauce used by most of the recipes requires some patience and it's best to bulk produce this and freeze the result - so freezer space is required.

This is the best curry book ever. I have bought so many curry cookery books and I consider myself a curry connoisseur and this book is by far the best.

  Excellent and Worth Buying

Please don't read to much into the last review,I bought this book after a last attempt to find a book that actually lets you into the secret of indian cooking and which you can actually produce at home without having to buy exspenive equitment and hard to find spices.Follow the step by step instructions and you will produce excellent curries, the secret is in making the curry sauce, from this you can make almost any curry that you would find in a restruant. My two sons now prefer me to make a curry rather than a local takeaway.

  What a disappointment

I bought this after reading tons of extremely positive and exciting reviews by other readers somewhere else. I spent 3-4 hours yesterday preparing the basic sauce (the "secret"), and tonight I first cooked the chicken and then the actual curry (a Tikka Masala), always following the instructions to the letter. At first, it tasted a bit bland and quite disappointing. After a while, it tasted terribly greasy and we could not even finish it. What a disappointment!

I am not giving it less than three stars because I think it is fair give it the benefit of the doubt: a majority of readers are really happy with it and I have only cooked one of the curries. However, taking into account most of them are based on the same "secret" sauce, I would not expect much from any of the recipes. So three stars for the book, but none for the terrible Tikka Masala I spent so much time on. Definitely not worth the effort in my experience.
