The spine of the book is still in great condition and the front cover is generally unmarked. It has signs of previous use but overall is in really nice, tight condition.  FANTASTIC!

Barker's first novel after his short story collections (Books of Blood part 1 & 2). Compared to his short stories, this takes a slower pace but it is never boring, constantly full of dark inventions and imagery. No matter what book of Barker's you read, your always left wanting more more more!!!.

 Barker's Debut Novel.

The Damnation Game is the first novel from horror/fantasy writer Clive Barker. Its a good read with many of the now customary Barker trademarks but its not his best work.

The main problem with this novel is that the second half is a bit of a mess. The first half is great introducing the characters and building the story but the second losses its way and becomes a little tiresome.

Barker would go onto bigger and better things but The Damnation Game remains an interesting read. Fans will enjoy it but anyone new to Barker should start with his more accomplished work (Weaveworld/Imajica).

 One of the best, ever.

Barker really gets it right with this one. Creating a mythology of his own, with believable characters and a truly original and terrifying storyline, this is a must read for anyone remotely interested in horror fiction.
