With an Introduction and Notes by Guy Reynolds, University of Kent at Canterbury, this book is generally considered to be F Scott Fitzgerald's finest novel. "The Great Gatsby" is a consummate summary of the "roaring twenties", and a devastating expose of the "Jazz Age". Through the narration of Nick Carraway, the reader is taken into the superficially glittering world of the mansions which lined the Long Island shore in the 1920s, to encounter Nick's cousin Daisy, her brash but wealthy husband Tom Buchanan, Jay Gatsby and the mystery that surrounds him.

The quirky characters in this story are great, there are secrets and parties that lead to an interesting end. You don't really know at first where the story is leading you while you get familiar with the characters and then all of a sudden the story comes to life. Beautifully written and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

At first when i started reading this book, i thought it held nothing of interest but when i got further into it, i found out it was really good. There are twists in the plot that i didnt even think would happen, and the language used is incredible.
