When James Bowen found an injured, ginger street cat curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation, he had no idea just how much his life was about to change. James was living hand to mouth on the streets of London and the last thing he needed was a pet. Yet James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent tom cat, whom he quickly christened Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, imagining he would never see him again. But Bob had other ideas. Soon the two were inseparable and their diverse, comic and occasionally dangerous adventures would transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other's troubled pasts. A Street Cat Named Bob is a moving and uplifting story that will touch the heart of anyone who reads it.

I found this a very moving and heartwarming read about how an animal can help change someone's life around and it moved me throughout the book and hope everyone enjoys this as I did, Bob is a loveable character and it helped me understand what the author went through on a daily basis to live in the big city and it has won my heart and feelings when I had finished the book, I never put this down when I started to read it fully enjoyable worth a read and was value for the money I paid for it top notch all round :)

 Beautiful friendship

This book was more about the cat than i expected and you might have to like cats to truly enjoy the book. I thought it would be more detailed from James Bowen's point of view about his life.

His adoration and bond with Bob is absolutely amazing and made me realise just how much my cat means to me. It is a heartwarming book and you can't help feel all warm and 'squishy' about.

An ambitious effort for someone lacking opposable thumbs

If you've ever had the pleasure of milling about Covent Garden soaking in some of the infamous street performances and cheery consumerism, you may well have come across Bob. He resides in an unusually busy alleyway, lording over the shoppers on a small decorative cushion. Bob seems a nice enough fellow, if a little full of himself, performing the most basic of tasks such as paw high fives, then expectantly scanning the crowd for some kind of applause. Nevertheless Bob has managed a fairly good effort with his book. Despite his obvious delusions and lack of understanding of humanity (To say he isn't well traveled is an understatement, in fact I have a sneaking suspicion he's never left the city, but I doubt he'd admit to that). All I can say is this is a thoroughly enjoyable read, just so long as you don't take the book as seriously as Bob takes himself.
